Meet the Coleraine Casterton Medical Team

Our GP practice supports the training of our future workforce. Dr Coulson is an accredited training supervisors under the AGPT Registrar training program and both Deakin and Flinders University Medical School student rural placement training programs. Please welcome and support our medical students and Registrars in hope they will return to serve our more rural communities in the future.

Dr Brian Coulson

Practice Principal
Brian commence working in Coleraine in 1982 after completing his GP Registrar training in Adelaide and England. Brian settled in Coleraine with his family and has since been providing medical services to our communities for most of his professional life. Brian’s professional interests include dermatology, mental health and procedural work. Brian enjoys many recreational interests including, deep water swimming, fishing, surfing, gardening, reading and travelling.

Dr Khaled Moussa

Khaled commenced in 2017 as a GP Registrar. Khaled completing his Medical Degree in Romania 2006 before returning to Australia to complete his internship at Traralgon Regional Health. Khaled has a strong interest in Emergency Medicine and intends to specialist in this upon completing his GP Fellowship.

Dr Yong Yu

Practice doctor
Yong commenced with the clinic in 2018 through the MCCC Registrar training program. Yong completed both a Master of Surgery at the Shanghai Jiaotong University (2003) and a Bachelor of Medicine at the Shanxi Medical University (1998) . Upon relocating to Australia from China, Yong worked in our Regional Hospitals located at Geelong, Traralgon and Hamilton prior to coming to rural General Practice as his specialty focus.

Dr Gaya Ekanyake

Gaya returned to medicine in 2018 after having completed her MBBS at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2004. Working as a GP in Sri Lanka Gaya's passion was for pediatrics, women's health and emergency care prior to starting a family and relocating the Australia with her husband in 2016. Gaya now looks forward to settling into the Casterton community with her family and having the opportunity to practice medicine in Australia as we works toward fellowship exams in the next 18 months.

Dr. Linda Thompson

Graduated Flinders University S.A. 1993 Spent next 15 years in Darwin working at Royal Darwin Hospital and in General Practice. Fellow RACGP 2005. Moved to Southern Grampians Region in 2010 and have worked part time at CC Medical in Coleraine /Casterton ever since. Interests-bio psycho social spiritual model of health and wellbeing. Seeing people work out their own problems /health issues and partnering with them in this by way of support, education and trust. I work a lot with mental health women’s health and geriatric health. My other interests include classical singing and acting.​
